The message rewriter is the “polish my draft” button inside customer conversations. You type a rough draft, tap the rewrite action, and the AI returns a cleaner version tuned to the channel.

When to use it

Use it when you have a draft already typed and you want the AI to fix tone, grammar, or length without inventing new content. The rewriter never adds new information that wasn’t already in your draft.

How it adapts to channel

The rewriter checks whether the conversation is SMS or email and applies different rules: SMS:
  • Tight, ideally under 320 characters
  • One or two short paragraphs at most
  • No formal greeting or sign-off
  • Conversational, first-name basis
Email:
  • Paragraphs allowed for readability
  • Natural greeting and sign-off only if your original had one
  • No subject line (your subject is handled separately)
  • No signature block (the app appends one)

What gets preserved

The rewriter is instructed to preserve facts exactly, including:
  • Prices, dates, addresses, names
  • Links (review request links, payment links, etc.)
  • The original intent and meaning of the message
It only fixes tone, grammar, awkward phrasing, and typos.

Extra instructions

You can pass an optional instruction along with the rewrite (e.g. “make it warmer,” “shorter,” “more apologetic”). The AI tries to honor it without altering facts.

What it does not do

  • Add information that wasn’t in your draft
  • Add a subject line for emails
  • Add a signature block
  • Wrap the output in quotes or commentary (it returns the rewritten body only)
  • Translate to another language (unless you ask in your extra instruction)

Cost

The rewriter uses a fast, low-cost model by default. Per-call cost is typically under a fraction of a cent.
